Online Poker Comes Down to Elimination of Mistakes

Author: Super UserPosted in: Advanced Poker

There is the old adage about online poker that holds a great deal of truth and perhaps the key to success which goes as this; “Poker takes an hour to learn but a lifetime to master.”

And part of that lifetime experience of mastering online poker is to learn from your mistakes and to never make those mistakes ever again. In essence, poker is much like sports in that the teams that don’t beat themselves are the teams that survive, often against better personnel.

The first mistake to avoid is losing control of your emotions and ability to think rationally. Some of the greatest experts at poker, players who have enormous talent, knowledge and ability are unable to turn profits and win consistently because they lack self-control and the ability to shake off “bad beats” that are part of the game. Lesser players who are able to keep control of their emotions will prove to be the more effective players in the long run.

Second is the ability to manage your poker bankroll and chip stacks. Again, this is far more important than actual expertise and knowledge of the game itself. There are many super skilled poker players that simply fail to advance because of their total inability to manage their money.

Part of the mental aspect that you must have is the near certainty that your poker opponents will make mistakes and that if you can avoid errors and last long enough you will often get gift wins because of those poor decisions of others.

You can quickly move up in poker and enjoy success far more quickly than others if you simply don’t allow yourself to go on tilt and to eliminate stupid obvious errors at first before moving on to the more complex aspects of the game.

Online Casinos Provide Free Fast Bucks and Long Term Earnings

Author: Super UserPosted in: Poker Tips

Gambling in one form or another has enticed punters for hundreds of years. The allure of doubling or even tripling a stake with the roll of a die is one too attractive to pass up, but the advent of the Internet and online gaming has only burgeoned our fascination with that very idea. Now, many online casinos and bookmakers offer free betting and bonuses that give customers a great opportunity to make a fast turnover while also building a bankroll for long-term gambling strategy.

Any gambling directory site worth its salt will highlight the best, most current or most popular free betting offers, usually in the form of a mini chart list. These easily digestible run-downs of free betting offers are a useful place to start for any gamer seeking or needing advice as to where to begin. The more comprehensive sites will include both casinos and bookmakers in their portfolio, making them one-stop shops for all gambling information.

The many free bets that are on offer for new customers ensure that while each site may have a play-through clause in the terms and conditions, the likelihood is that once a player likes the style and usability of a gaming house he or she is unlikely to want to change. Furthermore, having bankrolled their initial investment for no outlay, good free money bookies follow up the initial free bet offers with regular betting promotions.

Gamers looking for bonuses can take advantage of a number of promotions offered by key players in the betting industry, and at the time of writing some examples include Sky Bet's offer of a £10 free bet with the added bonus of a SKY service discount, while Blue Square are giving away match tickets for selected winning bets. These are just a few current examples, as industry powerhouses are always looking to keep things fresh and fancy for their loyal and new customers alike, and while they will not form a bankroll they are a nice incentive for players looking for that little something extra from their online bookmakers.

For the casino goers, similar bonuses and promotions apply, while many online community card rooms offer Rakeback as an incentive for players to remain with that poker room. The percentage of Rakeback - the portion of money returned to players once the house has taken it's share of the pot - varies from casino to casino, and game to game. It is always worth the time for players to check a potential casino's Rakeback stance, as regular players can earn a decent long-term "retainer" from Rakeback alone. Some bookmakers offer similar loyalty deals outside of their regular promotions to build a relationship with each individual customer, but they more commonly utilise bonuses and promotions to keep players building their bankroll for the long-term, a strategy that benefits both bookies and bettors.

Martingale - Double or Nothing ?!

Author: Super UserPosted in: Poker Bluffs

This is one Roulette online strategy which is good in theory but could turn you dirt poor in real life. The strategy goes like the player would double his bet after every loss. When the player finally wins, the player will get a bigger break and will gain a whole lot of profit which is more than equal to his original bet.

For example, if you bet $2 at first and lose, you will bet $4 on the next spin. If you lose again, you will be $8. If you lose again, bet $16 and so on and so forth. Bet until you lose all your money. This is one of the riskiest strategies in Roulette. There are some similar strategies when playing Online Blackjack too, but not as extreme as this one. If you'll fall to the wrong cards, you'll end the game poor in no time.. or win as big as you ever did..

Once the player wins, he can go back to his original bet level of $2 and start again. In theory, it may sound good, but in practice you can actually run to large numbers after every spin very quickly and you can easily lose your money in just a few spins. Even if $2 is your starting point, just after 7 spins and you’ll be betting $216. After 8 spins, you’ll be betting on $432. Streaks of 7 or 8 losses are not uncommon in roulette and if the table has a maximum of $500, you might not be able to cut your losses.

Behavior at the Table is Important

Author: Super UserPosted in: Poker Basics

When playing with other people around the table if one finds the behavior of the other player offensive, you can call on the manager or pit boss to sort out the matter. Also switching from one table to another or from one game to another cannot be done instantaneously. The player has to get up, pick up his own chips and actually move to the other game. Also the choices may be limited especially during peak hours when most of the tables are full with regular players and you may need to wait for your turn. If you want to avoid all this commotion and concentrate on nothing but the game, then online casinos are made just for you. Online casinos are convenient and easy to play. You can try the 90 Ball Bingo Chat Phrases - learn them all at Dotty, it's great and convenient.

Basic Rules of Online Poker

Author: Super UserPosted in: Poker Basics

If you are interested in the most popular casino game on the next, then you are interested in Poker. Online Poker is the most popular in the online casino games niche. The basic rules for playing online are quite simple and are as follows:
First, the players at the table start as the blind bets are laid by the Small and Big Blinds. The cards are then dealt to the players. The Dealer will move clockwise around the table dealing two face down cards to each player one at a time. Once the players are dealt their hand, the betting then begins.
Now, is the time for player to bet on what he feels his cards may be worth. If the player has a hand that is virtually useless, then they can choose to fold. If the player feels his cards may lead somewhere then he can raise. Or, the player can call.
Knowing when to fold is important and is determined by knowing the cards and their potential. With virtually useless hands a player should obviously fold, and for new players, this should be a rule. Keep track of the cards that have been played at the table which will also help you to determine your hands potential. Also check casino online website comparison guide.

A Welcome Bonus at The Casino

Author: Super UserPosted in: Poker Tips

Most online casino’s offer their new players a welcome bonus with they make their first deposit. Some casino’s have a set amount, while others will match your initial deposit. Every online casino is different so be sure to look around and the find the one that best suits your needs.

In most cases you are able to use the bonus to play in any casino games or slot machines, whether you’re a craps player, or you prefer roulette or cards , the money is yours to play with. You might asking yourself what is the catch? Why would the online casino just give free money to play games with, and why don’t I just sign up, deposit money and then withdraw it all, essentially doubling my money.

Unfortunately for you, the casinos have already thought of this, while each online casino may have different terms and conditions, they are pretty similar, and that is you have to play a certain amount before the bonus money is available for release. You’ll be able to withdraw your money and your winnings, but you won’t have access to the bonus money. There are even restrictions on what casino games you have to play, the most common Is online slots. Again, the online casinos aren’t dumb, they know that without limitations you could theoretically bet you on roulette, placing some money on red and some on black, so that you’d fill the requirements, and odds are you’d come out even.

For this reason, and others similar, most online casinos require you play any of their hundreds of online slots games. This way when you’re ready to cash out, you can find some fun games, like the Incredible Hulk and Gladiator and get play with your bonus money, and who knows, you might even hit a nice bonus round or even a jackpot.

Be sure to carefully read the terms and conditions, I can’t stress this enough, because every casino will be slightly different and the last thing you want when trying to withdraw money from the casino is to be surprised and find out that your money is still locked away .

Roulette Myths: Unlike Any Poker Myth

Author: Super UserPosted in: Poker Bluffs

First one myth is that all wheels are the same. This is not true. Not only do you have the European and the American wheels you have the bias and the random wheels. The European wheel is in the players advantage with a single zero slot as compared to the American wheel with a double zero. The random vs. bias is also a difference between wheels where the bias favors certain numbers and is usually the older or worn out wheels.

The next very important myth is that you can bet the odds in roulette with a mathematical system. Roulette is simply a game of chance. Although betting strategies are useful a mathematical system will not work, as it is one game in the casino where mathematics will not play a role.

Because roulette is a game of chance it is important to understand the game. Knowing your bets will greatly improve your chances of winning a profit. For example, you have a 45% chance of winning when betting Even, Odd, Low, High, Black or Red and the payout is a one to one ratio. Number bets are higher although the chances of the ball landing on your number are less. It's a bit hard to bluff when playing bingo, but it is still a great way to play and have fun.

Improving poker profits

Author: Super UserPosted in: Poker Tips

Description: Improving poker profits requires skillful play, and a little psychology. These tips will help you to bet not only to win, but also to make money.

If you want to make a profit when playing poker games online, you need to play to win, rather than playing to avoid losing. This simple change to your play style will help you to improve your poker profits.

The best poker players mix up their play while at the table, so that they aren’t predictable. This can really help you to win more. A tight passive style might help you to grasp the basics, but if people know that you only bet when you have a good hand, they’re not going to throw money in the pot because they know they’re just giving it away. Every now and then, throw in a raise with some slightly weaker cards, just to throw your opponents off balance. Don’t play like a maniac, but do mix things up a little.

Another thing you can do to improve your poker profits is rethink your overall strategy for calling and raising when you’re the first to enter a pot. Ideally, you should rarely call. Try to only play hands that you are willing to raise with. If a hand isn’t good enough to raise with, it’s probably not good enough to all with – especially in Texas Hold’em poker. By raising when you’re entering a pot, you minimize the amount of information you are giving to the other players.

Of course, as with every other rule, there are exceptions. If you know that the person to your left will raise when you limp in to a pot, and you have a very strong hand, you could consider simply limping in, but this is a risk. If you give your opponent the chance to limp in behind you, and he catches something great on the flop, you’re in trouble, and could have lost a great hand.

Whether you are willing to take risks is really a personal choice. There are situations where it may be worth it – for example if you need to boost the size of a pot in a poker tournament, but for general online play, being conservative may be a better bet.

The history of Poker

Author: Super UserPosted in: Poker Basics

To play poker online may seem something really new. But the game of poker has a fascinating history. Card games have accompanied the history of mankind for centuries. Since its origin it was related to the game of dominoes, and the goal was to trick the opponent, based on a deck where the cards took on different values. History records at the year 969 a. C., the first time a game similar to the card games that we know today was seated by the Chinese emperor Mutsung, who liked to play with his wife during special events.

The Egyptians also played then with cards during the XII and XIII a. C., and even earlier, and by sixteenth century ago a. BC, the Persians had developed a card game where you bet. This game, the direct ancestor of poker was called "As Nas", is played with a deck of 25 cards in the same way poker is played currently.

The word poker originates from the French word "poque" and the German game "Pocho", both based in the Spanish game "Primero", very popular between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. In 1526 was recorded the first document that contains the word "poker", based on a very similar game to the one we play today.

The French settlers brought the game to Canada originating is now know as poker Canada. By the eighteenth century poker was the French national game. The real boom of poker begins when a group of French-Canadian settler is installed in the New Orleans area in Louisiana, along the Mississippi River. This is where poker practice begins to take more force, spreading rapidly throughout the continent.

In 1834, Jonathan H. Greene writes a book where he talks about the pitfalls of a very particular game being played on board many ships on the Mississippi River. It was not uncommon for a rogue, that trying to cheat losing his life at the hands of other angry players.

The development of the state of Nevada, the boom in investment casinos like the Mafia, and the development of the city of Las Vegas confirmed the force had poker in the U.S. population, which plays regularly regardless of social stratum. Poker is the great equalizer that makes everyone, rich and poor, to expect with excitement the cards of your next hand.

Seidel Takes $250,000 Prize At Aussie Millions

Author: Super UserPosted in: Advanced Poker

What would you do if you had an extra $250,000 lying around? Maybe you’d bank it, buy yourself something nice or risk it on some Super Bowl predictions for the big game. Or maybe, you could use it as a buy-in for the richest poker tournament we’ve seen in a long time.

That’s exactly what 20 poker players did to compete in a high-stakes tournament. The $250,000 buy-in is the biggest ever (even though James Bond had a one million buy-in during the movie Casino Royale).

The tournament was filled with A-list players, including Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, John Juanda, and Hall of Famer, Erik Seidel. It just so happens that he outlasted everybody else and took home the biggest prize.

For anyone who’s been following >poker so far in 2011 knows that he’s been a man possessed so far this year, winning virtually every tournament he plays.

What’s he been up to this January? How about racking in a cool $3.4 million so far.

He made the final table of the six-handed event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and also had a fourth-place finish at another PCA Higher-Roller event. He took home a cool $618,139 at a 38-player Australian tournament and then, of course, he outlast 19 others at Aussie Millions.

In case you’re wondering, he’s now moved up to the third on the all-time earnings list.

Sam Trickett finished second and while he had some early luck, he’s probably disappointed he didn’t win. He held the chip lead throughout most of the night. Trickett probably won’t be too sour, though, as he was the winner of the $100,000 event last week and so far this January, has earned a cool $2.9 million.

There was one oddity about the tournament: there were three players, Paul Phua, Richard Young and Wang Qiang – all Chinese businessmen – who had to catch a flight later on in the day. Typically, this type of tournament may have a lot of slow play but it was agreed to make a faster structure that would speed up play, deliver a result and allow the men to catch their flight. Even with the stakes as high as they were, nobody objected. A lot of this advanced poker knowledge can easily apply to video poker as well. Give it a try today at GamblingCity.net!

Pot size in no-limit hold’em

Author: Super UserPosted in: Poker Tips

When you are playing deep stacked in no-limit Texas Hold em cash games then there are very few situations where you want the pot to become huge in full ring. Let us take the pre flop nuts of A-A and the only time that you would usually welcome a huge pot with this hand would be if you could get all in pre-flop as a huge favorite against K-K or Q-Q. But let us say that you open raised in NL100 to $3.50 and your opponent calls you as does the big blind. With $11 in the pot then this pot is starting to grow already and if all three players had one hundred big blind stacks then we are shaping up for an all in if the betting continues.

So if the flop comes Q-J-6 then do you want a big pot here? Well a lot depends on how the pot becomes big. If you are betting on every single street and you get called or even raised then your aces are looking decidedly shaky. If you bet $8 on the flop and get called then the pot is $27 by the turn and you only have $88.50 left. If the turn card is the 4c and you bet say $22 and get called then the pot has swelled to $71 and you only have $66.50 left which is less than the pot.

If you shove the river then can a hand that is weaker than aces call you? This is now a huge pot and you have played a huge pot through several post flop streets with one pair. It may be correct to do this in six max or heads up play but at full ring play then it is rarely correct and especially if the stacks are deep. Let us look at another situation, you open raise from the cut-off with the Qh-Jh and the button and both blinds call you making the pot $12 in NL100.

The flop comes Q-J-10 giving you top pair and the small blind leads out for $10 and the big blind raises to $48 and now the action is on you. This is clearly shaping up to be an all in and you need to ask yourself if an opponent could be so bad as to get all in with a hand that your top two pair can beat? It may seem like timid play to lay your hand down but there are numerous straights out there with A-K, K-9 and 9-8 as well as three possible sets in QQ, JJ and TT.

In full ring where players play tighter on average then I guarantee you that the big blind is looking to stack off here and you will be facing one of those six hands. On your really lucky days then someone may have bet K-Q while the other player raised with J-10 but in most cases you are about to play a huge pot here with nothing but two pair which may seem like a big hand but it is a very mediocre hand to play such a big pot with.
